Let’s Get Started: Your Initial Consultation
We start our journey with a detailed consultation. It lasts 1 hour and the fee is $250 plus HST. This is a reduced fee from my hourly rate. Why? Because we don’t know if we are the right fit for each other yet (yes, lawyers care about fit too)!
Our initial consultation is important for both of us. You get to determine the quality of my advice before investing further. I also assess whether I am the best lawyer for you to achieve the results you want. Our thorough consultation consists of:
- Learning the crucial details about your situation
- Advising you on important aspects of family law in plain language (English or Chinese Mandarin)
- Providing general options and specific recommendations tailored to your situation
- Straightforward answers to your questions even if it means telling you what you may not want to hear
- Figuring out your financial budget and how to work within it
- Suggesting alternatives if I am not the fit for you. Lawyers get a bad rep sometimes, so I want good people to work with good lawyers
